Locations are presented in the order they first appeared in the episodes, with all subsequent revisits to that place grouped together for the sake of tidiness. Timings given are based on the Blu-ray editions and all episode images are sourced from these discs. Please note that Blu-ray grabs have been regraded to highlight details of the filming locations and are not representative of the actual look of the Blu-rays, which are graded appropriately.

(46:35) De Crecy digs another grave, this time for Jeff, who is trapped in the room.

GORE STREET
BROMPTON
LONDON SW7

Identified by:
RAHDAS members

(13:02) Jeff Randall parks near Julia's home and bids her farewell after their meal out.

Since Filming: Jeff parks up outside 3A/3B Gore Street, which has now been significantly remodelled. As Jeff pulls up, a window is visible at the extreme right of frame. This is now absent and a new doorway has been added, suggesting that the subdivision of the original number 3 occurred after filming and before 2008.

Also, number 4 Gore Street - seen directly behind Jeff's Vauxhall and adjoining the Petersham Place archway - has gained an extra floor, achieved by extending the loft at the rear end of the property.

Additionally, the shuttered garage across the road in Gore Street has been converted to living space. This building work took place at some point between May 2019 and November 2020.

Spotter's Note: The modern day bus shelter seen in the 'Now' photo directly above is situated in such a way that it blocks the original camera angle, so our photograph has been taken closer in than the 1968 shot.

(36:20) After dropping Jeannie off, Jeff leaves the car and walks across the green towards the river path.

Since Filming: The low wall that Jeff negotiates has been raised to such an extent that you can no longer see the green behind it from the 1968 camera position. He would have to be quite an athlete to clear it now!

Curiously, the wall has not been built up for the entire length - it is limited to the two ends of the wall but is raised to a higher degree at this end (for approximately 25 metres). This work appears to have taken place at some point between July 2019 and November 2020.

Claire and Michael Saunders and Cindy

(38:05) The black van in which Jeff is being held prisoner arrives in a perimeter road outside a football stadium, where a match is taking place.

Since Filming: Named Occupation Road at the time of filming, this road that runs down the north eastern perimeter of Watford Football Club's Vicarage Road Stadium. The garages to the right hand side of the road are much as they were in 1968, but the football ground seen to its left has had a radical makeover in recent years.

Image © Alys Hayes, 2024

This road was renamed Yellow Brick Road in November 2023 in honour of Watford F.C.'s long-time supporter, benefactor and former club chairman Sir Elton John. The road name recalls his famous 1973 album and song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
