Notes

• The outer box of this set was initially manufactured with PG certification symbols and had to be covered with stickers carrying the '12' symbol when the BBFC certification came through with a higher rating than anticipated. The internal sleeves were printed with the correct '12' symbols. The problem was more wide-ranging than it might appear, as several Network DVD titles - The Dustbinmen, Nearest and Dearest and Sir Francis Drake - were recalled for repackaging around this time, and it caused Gideon's Way's planned release date of 11 July 2005 to be missed.

• The Special Features list on the Discs 5-7 sleeve suggests that there were "Gideon C.I.D. US Titles on Selected Episodes", though the only episodes to carry this title sequence were to be found on Disc 2.

• This DD Home Entertainment release was licensed for sale via mail order and the DDHE website but due to Network's existing agreement with Granada Ventures (now ITV Studios) DD were unable to market their version more generally.

• The set was divided into three cases containing 'Parts' One, Two and Three, but discs within them were labelled somewhat confusingly. To begin with, none of the discs inside referred to 'Parts' despite the sleeves doing so. Instead they were designated by disc number / letter, with Part One labelled Disc 1A, 2A and 3A, Part 2 Disc 1B and 2B, and Part 3 Disc 1C and 2C. It would have been logical for them to have been numbered 1 to 7. 

• Although this was a 'vanilla' release with no special features, it did vary from the Network edition in that the episodes The White Rat, The State Visit, The Firebug and The Lady-Killer were presented with their original UK opening titles as opposed to their US Gideon C.I.D. ones which Network had added to those episodes.

• This DDHE edition of Gideon's Way also included English subtitles throughout whereas the Network version had none.
