• Something for a Rainy Day is the only episode of The Baron to have been released in High Definition on Blu-ray in the United Kingdom. A further release was planned in 2023 and this eventually saw the light of day in Australia in 2024. Read on...

Notes

• This would have been a Blu-ray release of High Definition restorations of the two Baron feature films - The Man in the Looking Glass and Mystery Island. These theatrical versions were compiled from, respectively, the episodes Masquerade and The Killing and Storm Warning and The Island. Both were two-part stories which lent themselves well to such compilations.

• Restoration work was completed and pre-orders were taken for a release date of 12 June 2023, but the discs were not manufactured. This was a result of a financial collapse at Network, which sadly went into voluntary liquidation on 9 June 2023.

• Randall and Hopkirk (Declassified) is especially grateful to designer Martin Cater for permitting us to share his striking artwork for the mooted Network release.

• These restorations finally saw the light of day care of Australian video company ViaVision, who issued this material with additional special features on their Imprint label as The Baron: The Feature Films (IMP4366, October 2024). Something for a Rainy Day was also included in this release.
