Notes |
-
This was the first ever Prisoner
original soundtrack release, issued by Bam-Caruso
Records of St. Albans, Hertfordshire.
-
All tracks by Albert Elms
except: Tracks A1, B1 and B12 (Ron Grainer),
A2 and A4 (Wilfred
Josephs), A3 (Johann Strauss I), B6 and B7 (Georges Bizet,
arranged by Albert Elms) and B8 (Vivaldi, arranged by Albert
Elms).
-
This
release was a co-production between Bam-Caruso Records and
the Six of One Prisoner Appreciation Society in association
with ITC Entertainment.
-
This LP was issued in several
variants, the earliest of which were available exclusively
through Six of One. These came with an unusual and well
thought out gatefold front cover (see images above for a
demonstration) and included a 24-page book, The Making of The Prisoner,
a printed sleeve (pictured below) and a Village Map
(pictured right).

These vinyl singles tied in with the album
Power Themes 90, which remixed theme tunes
for several popular British TV series for the new
decade.

The 7" label carried
a misprint stating that the B-side track was
entitled The Escape (Big Ben Mix) rather
than The Prisoner (Big Ben Mix).
